C02 piping & regulator |
Praxair has proposed regulators and switchover (manifold) costing $950.00. Either ESI or Praxair will install. ESI to install CO2 piping to BSC and 3 other locations. 4/27/07 update: Praxair to install. Praxair tech or rep to be asked to visit campus to see lab, estimate gas usage rate, possible low CO2 alarm. Prax Air rep Luis Mendez. Plan tank delivery schedule around rate of use. CO2 system to be sized for four (?) stacks of 2 incubators Need to determine how long a cylinder of gas will last for 8 incubators. Brent Kolhede may be able to advise. Check with Praxair for alarm advice. |

C02 low alarm |
Install an alarm to Rm 288 for CO2 depletion. Depletion should sound alarm noise in 288 and also go to physical plant or dispatch. Bob recommends that an additional monitoring CO2 cylinder pressures, gas lines and incubator operations and be run to a web page with trending. The site could also email lab staff when values get close to alarms points to ensure changeouts are done before an alarm is given. An alarm is generally a bad thing. Check with Praxair for low gas alarm that is integrated into manifold. |
